Therapy for Residents of South Orange, NJ

Contact

When life becomes overwhelming and stressful, it can have a way of stirring up difficult emotions. When these emotions aren’t attended to, they can have a way of disrupting and getting in the way of feeling grounded, and can impact how we feel day-to-day, as well as how we interact with others, including your most significant and close relationships. It can also make showing up for work difficult, as well, and start to feel like you’re losing control of your life.

Some of the reasons people start into therapy can be a noticeable shift in how you’re feeling. For example, you may experience anxiety in your thoughts (such as rumination, worry, intrusive thoughts, etc.), and/or in your body (such as tension, panic attack sensations, rapid breathing, etc.), depression or chronic sadness and heaviness — as if you’re living life dragging a weight around with you. You may notice old trauma being stirred up as well, which can cause a variety of different mind and body reactions to surface. You may notice yourself feeling uncomfortable in places you used to feel comfortable and wanting to close off more from the world — such as agoraphobia, or struggling with other phobias such as fear of flying, an more.

If you’re noticing that life is starting to slip out of your grasp, it may be a good time to start into therapy. Here (whether virtually online, or in person), we can work together to give you the space you need to reflect, process, and bring your life, mind, and body to where you feel empowered within yourself and have your feet back on the ground in your life.
