When you start a therapy session, whether in-person or virtually online, the space is yours. It’s there for you to be able to check in with yourself, reset, look inward, and reflect. The time and space is for us to engage with the parts of you that need our attention that day. It could be about old memories that stay with you and show up on a regular basis. These may be fond memories that you want to relive, or just talk about. They may also be painful or traumatic memories that need to be talked about, worked through, understood, processed, and released in order to make other parts of life easer now.
The process of therapy, among many things, is about connection. This may mean connection to yourself, your emotions, your desires, your life, your trajectory, and more. If may mean connection with others and relationships. In therapy, I’m here to help you create the life you desire for yourself. This may mean internally emotionally, or in other ways. We go at your pace as we work together to help you claim the control and empowerment you wish to have in your life.
